Today the nominations for the 2018 Grammy's were released and it may be the most diverse nomination list we've seen in a while -- maybe ever. The three artists in the lead for nominations are ALL people of color and shockingly enough, TWO are rappers.

I'm with Issa when it comes to this year's Grammy's; I am truly rooting for everybody Black. And with this nomination list, that is a LOT of categories to choose from!

In going through the nomination list, I think Album of the Year is probably the hardest category for me to choose from. Awaken My Love! was undoubtedly Childish Gambino's BEST work to date and a flawless album. I'm very happy for Gambino and his nomination because it is certainly well deserved. Then there's 24K Magic, the feel-good album that you could not go anywhere without hearing. DAMN was a cohesive whimsical trip through Kendrick's brain, always a masterpiece. Then there's 4:44 the autobiographical work that had a people's ears and captivated several listeners. This category will certainly be a hard one to choose from.

Record of the Year will also be one to watch for. I'm waiting between "24K Magic" and "Redbone" for that. 

Song of the Year, I'll take "That's What I Like".

Best New Artist, I'm certainly rooting for SZA. I've been waiting for her to win for years. 

Best Pop, "Shape of You" (because Black women wrote it).

Best R&B, "Get You". Undoubtedly. Hands down.

Best Traditional R&B & Best R&B Song "Redbone"

Best Urban Contemporary, SZA! I. NEED. CTRL.

Best R&B,  Freudian. If it doesn't win, I'm flipping some tables. There's no justification.

Best Rap Performance. This one is a doozy. I'm stuck between "Humble" "Bodak Yellow" and "Bad & Boujee". I'm rooting for Bardi though.

Best Rap/Sung Performance, "Crew" or "Loyalty". I'd be pleased either way

Best Rap Song, "The Story of O.J." because, obviously

Best Rap Album, I already know that Rhapsody will be overlooked so I'll go with "Damn"

Also, if you didn't know, it's the first time in 19 years that a white man isn't nominated for Album of the Year.
